The Mansion at Natirar: A Wedding Photographer’s Dream LocationDecember 12th, 2012 by Elizabeth Beskin | Share Blog
Formerly owned by the King of Morocco, The Mansion is an historic estate that has been transformed into a luxury Banquet and Catering venue, in partnership with Restaurant Associates. Their attention to period details and modern accommodations makes The Mansion a distinctive location for weddings – and for wedding photography. The exceptional creative powers at By Robin, the wedding planners, made full use of the space, giving this couple and their families a wedding experience that truly expressed their individuality, complete with a drum solo by the groom.

Real Wedding: Katherine and Sam at 24 5th AvenueOctober 10th, 2012 by Elizabeth Beskin | Share Blog
The photos express the down-to-earth nature of the couple, and capture a wedding that had a very simple and elegant feel.  Everything, from getting ready to the her mom’s dress expresses the simplicity.   The couple was very appreciative of everything on their wedding day as well as being very focused on the spirituality of their ceremony. One of our more recent additions to our photography team, BJ Enright shot the event. He found the couple very easy going, loving, fun and full of joy.   What more can a photographer ask for. For more images from Katherine and Sam’s wedding check |

A Same-Sex Wedding to Warm the HeartJune 26th, 2012 by Beth Baynum | Share BlogWhen we see a couple like John and Scott get married, we are reminded of the importance of the New York legislation enacted last year allowing same-sex unions. Theirs is a heart-warming story, similar to the stories of so many gay and lesbian couples in the state. John and Scott have been together 27 years, an amazing feat for any couple, no matter what their sexual orientation. They have been waiting for many (too many!) years to be legally married to each other. Here at 5th Avenue Digital, we feel it’s a great privilege to document the weddings of couples who have loved, struggled, cried and laughed together for many years and are so happy and ready to be married.  For the same-sex couples we photograph, this sentiment is even stronger.  The companionship and love they share emanates from their photos. It warms the heart! Take a look and see if your heart is lifted, too. |

Details Matter – In Life and PhotographySeptember 25th, 2011 by Beth Baynum | Share Blog Funny, so many of our clients worry about the big shots: certain poses with specific family members, the ceremonial kiss, the first dance. While it’s crucial that we capture these major moments, it’s really the detail shots that give wedding photography depth, texture and interest. The most memorable and evocative wedding photography includes lots of detail shots in addition to capturing the big moments. These might include close-ups of the |

The Gorgeous Look of Love at a Montauk WeddingAugust 8th, 2011 by Elizabeth Beskin | Share Blog
Rebekah had reservations about her original photographer, and after talking to us and seeing our wedding work, she listened to her gut and decided to go with our photographer Jesse. We are so glad she did! Despite the 90 degree weather, Rebekah and Makenzie were serene … even blissful. Theirs is a beautiful love story told in the way she looks at him.
