10 Things I Learned at This Year’s Women Presidents’ Organization Conference

May 10th, 2013 by | Share Blog

Elizabeth Beskin and participants at the 2013 WPO Conference

Here are some of the kernels I took away from my participation in the Women Presidents’ Organization 2013 International Conference:

1. Women are starting to understand the power they have in numbers. They are mentoring each other, empowering each other, and creating businesses that are making a difference in their communities and in the lives of other women.

2. I am lucky to have heard Linda Applegate a few times as the head of the OPM program at Harvard Business School. Every time I hear her lecture, even if I’ve heard the content before, I hear something new. This time, I heard the term pivotal growth, and I think that’s the stage we are now in at 5th Avenue Digital. Read the rest of this entry »

How to Maximize Your Event Photography

February 25th, 2013 by | Share Blog

event_marketing_by_5th_avenue_digitalOne of our most loyal and beloved clients, Consultants 2 Go, recently celebrated their 10th anniversary in business, and we were there to capture the event.  Consultants2Go® is a management consulting company providing marketing and analytic consultants to Fortune 1000 companies.  Being experts at using PR to market their services, they had a specific plan in mind for using their event photos.

We asked Sandi Webster, one of the company owners, to re-cap their strategy for maximizing use of the event photos:

5th_avenue_digital_event_photography

1.    All photos were posted to the company’s Facebook Page and website

2.    Individual photographs of clients, consultants and staff gave more ways to market:

  • Sending individual emails to each attendee who was photographed, along with a Thank You for attending.  For clients, this individual email was a follow-up to any conversation had at the party, and was another client touch point.
  • For some clients, including a photo of a consultant who can help their business.  Even if they didn’t speak at the party, it gave them an increased comfort level since they probably saw the person at the event.
  • For consultants who attended, sending a link to the Facebook page so that they can see the album

3.    Emailing a newsletter including links to the pictures

4.    Sending a press release announcing the anniversary, with a photo

5.    Making commemorative photo albums for the staff

5th_avenue_digital_event_photographyThese are just a few ideas for extending the use of your event photos.  Including your event photos as part of your overall marketing efforts is strategic and smart – just like Sandi.  Thank you for sharing your marketing expertise, Sandi, and congratulations on 10 years in business!

A Look Back on Summer 2012

September 6th, 2012 by | Share Blog

same sex wedding phtoographyThis summer brought tangible signs of growth for 5th Avenue Digital. The weddings we provided with photography, videography and our YouBooth photo booth were heartfelt and beautifully tailored to each couple.  We saw an uptick in same sex marriages that’s been encouraging and re-affirming.  John and Scott had been together 27 years before they were able to have a celebration that was as lavish and beautiful – and legal! – as every other wedding we’ve photographed over the years.

Our newer photographers were also able to spread their wings this summer to fantastic results. We couldn’t be more excited to see what creativity unfolds on the jobs they have booked for the fall. Nikki Scheidt is a new addition to our sales team as she has been doing a wonderful job meeting with our social clients at a time when all anyone wanted to be doing was going to the beach. The Social Media Portal Sweetens a Promotion for Hershey’s S’mores

August 21st, 2012 by | Share Blog

hershey event with empire force events

At the recent BlogHer Conference at the New York Hilton, Hershey’s was looking for a way to draw attendees to their promotional suite for their eternally-popular S’mores treats.  They accomplished this by creating fantastic interactive sets, with the help of the top-notch team at Empire Force Events , masters at the art of event marketing.

The Hershey’s Suite gave everyone a chance to make – and EAT! – S’mores while relaxing in the created settings.  One set was a campfire, the other a backyard barbeque.  After getting their photos taken, everyone used our Social Media Portal to email the pictures to friends and family, Tweet them and post them on Facebook.  This created lots of buzz and drew more visitors to the S’mores Suite.  It’s another example of event marketing done right.  The client was thrilled with the results and the photos are – of course – SWEET!

Green Screen Photography Takes Consumer Marketing Around the World

July 2nd, 2012 by | Share Blog

Event Marketing for Hotel.com's BedadventureWhen the event marketing pros at Eventstyle needed green screen photography for their client, Hotels.com, they turned to 5th Avenue Digital to make it happen.  The event they produced is an ideal example of consumer event marketing at its best.

To promote Hotels.com’s connections with hotel properties around the world, Eventstyle created a Bedventure in the heart of New York City.  They set up a giant bed next to the Flatiron Building, where people on the street could have their photos taken with their choice of international locations as the background.  That’s the magic of green screen photography!

Extending the consumer outreach even further, the event included 5th Avenue Digital’s exclusive Social Media Portals, which allowed everyone who had their photo taken to immediately email it, or post it on Facebook and Twitter.  The Social Media Portal is our Special Sauce that turns standard event photography into marketing mojo.  All those photos will now be sent, posted and tweeted around the globe, taking exposure for the Hotels.com logo and marketing message to new heights.

Perhaps the age-old admonition not to jump on the bed had an effect: many people at the Bedventure had a blast doing just that!  Take a look:

Rave Reviews for Onsite printing with Carmelo Anthony

September 30th, 2011 by | Share Blog

5TH_AVENUE_DIGITAL_onsite_printsThank you again to the 5th Avenue Digital team for helping us pull off a spectacular event last night with the tightest of schedules!  Everyone was amazing and Stavros was fantastic, keeping the line moving and managing some of the “challenging” guests.  Our client was thrilled with how things went and this effort was a big part of that, stepping in late in the game and rising to the occasion.

Again, awesome job and looking forward to working together on future projects.

The Epix Free-for-all Movie Event- Event Marketing Done Right

September 7th, 2011 by | Share Blog

5th avenue digital event photography5th Avenue Digital has been busy this summer as the official photographer for the Epix Movie Free-For-All in New York City. Epix, MTV, NYC & Company, the city’s parks, and other sponsors have been showing first-run classic films and popular recent releases at four outdoor locations in around town.

The sponsors turned to 5th Avenue Digital to shoot event photos of the audiences enjoying this wonderful summer evening activity. There have been about four screenings a week at four locations around the city: Tompkins Square Park, Coney Island, Socrates Sculpture Park in Queens and McCarren Park in Brooklyn. We’ve had a photographer at each event, shooting the crowd.

Here’s the coolest part: how we were able to help epix with their event marketing efforts.  At the event, our photographers provide attendees with a web address. Within 24 hours after each Epix Movie Free-For-All showing, our team has uploaded all the images and posted them on the designated website. There, people find their photo, print it, save it, or even share it by email with family and friends. Event marketing at its best.

The Epix Mov5th avenue digital event photographyie Free-For-All photos show New Yorkers at their summer best, enjoying the outdoors and each other. People love them! Visits to the EPix site have exceeded expectations, with thousands of people viewing, sharing and printing their photos. Check it out these great shots for yourself:  http://freeforall.epixhd.com/photos

5th Avenue Digital is thrilled to be a part of this quintessential event marketing opportunity and great summer activity. We can’t wait to see what is planned for next summer!

If you have an event coming up and are interested in providing your attendees with the kind of event marketing service that we provided for Epix Movie Free-For-All, please feel free to contact us.  This is what event marketing is all about.
