Six Reasons to Hire a Photographer for a Landmark Birthday or Anniversary

Some occasions, such as landmark birthdays and anniversaries, call for the deluxe treatment. These are the once-in-a-lifetime events that, like a wedding, bar or bat mitzvah, or communion, are the defining experiences and happiest moments and of our lives. A professional photographer can capture all the emotion and significance in a way that friends and family just aren’t able to do—besides, everyone should be busy celebrating, participating, and just plain enjoying themselves.

Here are six more good reasons for hiring a professional photographer:

5. Take your life off Facebook and put it on your shelf, so you can look at it in comfort any time you wish.
6. No one can make you look as good as a professional photographer. Hire one so you can say, “Wow! I  looked GOOD at 50!”

How We Keep Our Photography Rates So Reasonable

I was speaking recently with Zak Kunish, an event planner we’ve long wanted to work with (because he’s also a cool and fabulous person), about our first job together.    We were reviewing our rates, and he said, “Is that all?  How do you guys make any money?”  It’s a fair question and it got me wondering how many other people we work with think the same thing.

Some people may interpret – wrongly – that a reasonable rate, or a rate they perceive as low, as a reflection of the quality of our photographers talent, or of our service.  Concerned that this may be Zak’s impression, I took the opportunity to explain how we’re able to keep our rates so reasonable.  His interest in my response prompts me to share this with our blog readers.

ABC Launches New Season

What could be more appropriate for a launch event than the Mother of all aircraft carriers: Intrepid?

After viewing a presentation about the new season in Intrepid’s theatre, guests were served burgers and sushi – fitting cuisine for a World War II Battleship! Attending the event were WABC newscasters.
